WE AT POSITIVE VIBES ARE PROUD TO WELCOME YOU INTO OUR DANCE FAMILY. ON OUR WATCH, WE WANT TO DO SOMETHING EXTRAORDINARY WITH OUR GIFTS AND TALENTS. HISTORY WILL BE THE JUDGE, BUT THE SCRIPT IS OURS. WE ARE ON AN ADVENTURE TO BLOW THE DOORS OFF “BUSINESS AS USUAL.” WE ARE HERE TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN THE WORLD, AND A WORLD OF DIFFERENCE. WE ARE EXTREMELY COMMITTED AND PASSIONATE ABOUT A CULTURE BUILT ON RESPECT, LOYAL RELATIONSHIPS, WITHIN OUR TEAM AND THE WORLD, THAT ARE GENERATED BY GENUINE CARE, LOVE, FUN, HEART, HARD WORK, HONOR, AND HAPPINESS, ONE DANCER AT A TIME.
Kayla Campbell
Competition Director
Kayla has spent her life in competitive dance studios. From the age of 3 she began her dance journey that would not only become a hobby but a passion. She has studied many styles of dance including but not limited to ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, contemporary, hip hop and acrobatics. Kayla attended Illinois State University where she received her Bachelors of Science and Technology in Interior Design. It didn’t take long after graduation for Kayla to know she wanted to continue in the dance industry. Kayla is now the Assistant Director of a prestigious dance studio in Metro St. Louis and designs homes on the side. She is also the head coach of a state champion high school dance team. She is accredited by her studies with world-renowned choreographers, her many choreography awards and dance scholarships.
Chelsea Guempel
Competition Director
Chelsea has been in the dance industry for 25 years. Her years of competitive dance and dance team led her to Southern Illinois University Carbondale where she was a member and captain of the Saluki Shaker Dance Team. When graduating with a Bachelors of Arts in Business with a specialization in Entrepreneurship, she was not ready to quit her love of dance. Chelsea auditioned for a NFL Cheerleading team where she spent 4 years as a member and also held a captain position. In 2013, she opened her own competitive dance and tumbling studio which competes nationwide. Chelsea has choreographed for studios, junior high schools, high schools, colleges and professional level. Chelsea has danced all around the world including China, Japan, England, Mexico and Canada. She hopes to bring her worldly, professional experiences to Positive Vibes Dance.
Chris Campbell
Co-Owner
Chris is our man of many hats. From working as a visual engineer, to Real Estate agent, to business owner, to I.T. guru, Chris does it all! Chris spent his lifetime competing in sports such as football, soccer and baseball. After secondary, he attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign where he received his Bachelors of Science in Architectural Studies. By age 25 Chris had already owned 3 successful businesses and continues to be a true entrepreneur. Chris has been non-reluctantly sucked into this wild dance world because of his wife’s passion for dance. He has taken on the roles of recital stage hand, prop builder, website designer and competition fan club member.
Eric Guempel
Co-Owner
Eric may be the most vivacious of the four. Don’t be fooled by his professionalism, this man can pull out his Emcee personality at the drop of a hat. Eric was born and raised in St. Charles, Missouri. He attended high school at the esteemed Christian Brothers College. From there he went on to get his Bachelors in Business and Administration from University of Missouri St. Louis. Eric’s work experience includes banking, IT staffing, and real estate agent along with successful business owner. Eric is our team member whose main focus is studio outreach. Studio owners, teachers and students will love getting to know Eric and his spunky personality.
